Gateway Center Arena Cancels Bassnectar Performances Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuit Controversy
Electronic producer Bassnectar's upcoming shows at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia, have been canceled following public backlash related to ongoing sexual assault allegations. The performances were originally scheduled for April.

The venue announced their decision after conducting an internal evaluation, citing community safety as their primary concern. The allegations against Bassnectar (legal name Lorin Ashton) stem from an April 2021 lawsuit in which two women accused him of sexual abuse of minors, human trafficking, and child pornography. Two additional women later joined the lawsuit, though one withdrew when required to reveal her legal name.
Ashton's legal team maintains his innocence, stating he "has always denied these outrageous and offensive allegations" and has never been found liable or charged. The case is currently in discovery, with trial scheduled for February 2025.
This cancellation follows similar actions in other states, including the cancellation of two shows at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina. Despite the controversy, Bassnectar has successfully performed sold-out shows in Las Vegas and New York City since his return to performing last year.
