Sean Kingston faces ten charges in Florida, including grand theft and fraud, following his recent detainment in California. The Jamaican-American singer, legally named Kisean Paul Anderson, was arrested on May 23 after a SWAT team raid on his South Florida mansion.

The charges include defrauding a jeweler and car dealer for nearly $500,000, along with multiple counts of identity fraud and issuing faulty checks. Kingston's mother, Janice Turner, was also arrested and faces eight charges, though she has posted bail.

According to authorities, Kingston and his mother allegedly defrauded several businesses, with jewelry alone worth approximately $480,000. Kingston was already on probation for trafficking stolen property when these incidents occurred.

Kingston's attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, stated to NBC News that they plan to challenge the case, arguing it's "merely a civil case and not criminal." Kingston is currently held without bail in a San Bernardino county jail, awaiting an extradition hearing to return to Florida.

Best known for his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls" and his collaboration with Justin Bieber on "Eenie Meenie," Kingston hasn't released music under a major label in over a decade.
