DJ Envy Subpoenaed Over Multi-Million Dollar Real Estate Ponzi Scheme
DJ Envy, co-host of 'The Breakfast Club,' has received a court-ordered subpoena in connection with an alleged Ponzi scheme run by Cesar Pina through a house-flipping business.

The radio personality must produce financial documents related to his business dealings with Pina by January 8. Failure to comply could result in legal consequences, including potential jail time. The court filing states that sanctions may be imposed on DJ Envy (Raashaun Casey), Cesar Pina, and Jennifer Iturralde Pina for contempt if they fail to provide complete responses.
Pina was arrested in October 2023 for wire fraud related to real estate ventures that allegedly defrauded investors of millions of dollars. While DJ Envy claims to be a victim who lost $500,000 in an apartment building renovation project, Pina disputes this assertion.
During an Instagram Live stream, Pina stated, "DJ Envy's attorney defense that DJ Envy is a victim—that's the dumbest shit I ever heard in my life. Me and him were partners in the real estate seminars, we were partners in a couple of real estate transactions. He's not a victim. He was my partner."
The case has drawn additional attention due to a separate lawsuit from two investors who claim they lost $1.5 million in the same apartment complex project that never materialized. Pina filed for bankruptcy in August, further complicating the legal proceedings.
