An anonymous woman who filed a rape lawsuit against Jay-Z and Diddy has voluntarily dismissed her case with prejudice, preventing any future refiling of the same claims.
The lawsuit, filed four months ago, alleged that the plaintiff was sexually assaulted at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The accuser claimed she was lured by a limousine driver when she was 13 years old.
Several inconsistencies emerged during the investigation:
- The alleged property location could not be verified
- Claims about musician Benji Madden's presence were disproven, as he was touring in the Midwest at the time
- Other details about the incident didn't align with verifiable facts
Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) adamantly denied the accusations, describing them as "frivolous, fictitious, and appalling." Through Roc Nation, he expressed concern about the trauma inflicted on his family and emphasized the importance of protecting both victims and those falsely accused.
Meanwhile, Sean "Diddy" Combs faces separate legal challenges, including federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He remains in New York City jail awaiting a May trial. His legal team maintains his innocence, stating that "Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone" and expects other pending lawsuits to similarly fail in court.
