The lawsuit claims West acquired an app development team to create a music streaming platform, aiming to bypass traditional services like Spotify and Apple Music. Multiple developer groups, known as YZYVSN and YZYAPP, competed for the project.
Key allegations in the lawsuit include:
- Employment of minors as young as 14 without proper safeguards
- Creation of a hostile work environment with racial discrimination
- Forced signing of NDAs, including by underage workers
- Harassment based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation, and ethnicity
- Distribution of inappropriate content to workers, including minors
- False promises of payment and acquisition deals
The lawsuit specifically mentions Milo Yiannopoulos, a project leader, for creating a racist work environment and making false payment promises. Bianca Censori, West's wife, is accused of sharing explicit content with workers through file-sharing links.
Workers report experiencing:
- Constant deadline changes
- Cult-like behavior among team members
- Hostile and intimidating workplace conditions
- Mental stress from harassment
Milo Yiannopoulos has dismissed the lawsuit as a "sad race hustle" on social media, though he left the project on May 20, citing concerns for his mental and physical health.
The case, filed as Shemar DaCosta v. Yeezy LLC, highlights serious concerns about workplace safety, minor exploitation, and professional misconduct in the entertainment industry.
