Massive Ticketmaster Data Breach Exposes 560M Customers' Personal & Payment Information
A major Ticketmaster data breach has reportedly compromised the personal information of 560 million customers, according to initial reports from Australia's Cyber Daily and London's HackRead.
The hacker group ShinyHunters claims to have accessed 1.3 terabytes of sensitive customer data, including:
- Full names
- Addresses
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Order details
- Partial credit card information (last 4 digits and expiration dates)
Person wearing skull mask and glasses
The hackers are attempting to sell the stolen data for $500,000 on Breach Forums, a platform reportedly owned by ShinyHunters themselves. The group claims to have contacted Ticketmaster regarding the breach, but the company has not yet issued any public response.
This security incident comes at a particularly challenging time for Live Nation, Ticketmaster's parent company, as it faces:
- An ongoing Justice Department antitrust suit
- A multibillion-dollar class action lawsuit
- Continued fallout from the Taylor Swift Eras Tour pre-sale issues
The breach has already sparked concerns about ticket scams, with a recent Lloyds Bank report revealing that UK-based Swift fans lost approximately $1.2 million to fraudulent ticket sales ahead of her June concerts.
