Kendrick Lamar is moving forward with plans to perform his controversial track "Not Like Us" at the Super Bowl halftime show, despite reported pressure and potential legal implications. The NFL has also previewed the track in promotional materials, confirming its inclusion in the setlist.

Drake's legal team reportedly attempted to prevent the performance, as the track is central to an ongoing defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG). Drake filed a petition in November, claiming UMG orchestrated a scheme to promote the diss track and damage his reputation. The lawsuit has since escalated, though UMG has dismissed the claims as "ridiculous."

The controversy hasn't affected Lamar's preparations for the Super Bowl performance. He's partnered with designer Willy Chavarria for a limited-edition apparel collection commemorating the event. Chavarria, a fellow Californian, praised Lamar's artistic message and societal impact. The collection launches Wednesday, January 29, ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl.

Lamar's decision to include "Not Like Us" in his performance highlights his commitment to artistic expression, even amid legal pressures. As he isn't directly involved in the lawsuit between Drake and UMG, the performance is expected to proceed as planned, meeting fan expectations for the high-profile event.
